Was Family Guy Out of Pocket For Their Nipsey Hussle Joke?

Family Guy has built up a representation for trolling pop culture events, and icons. Nobody is safe. Not even those who have passed. Sadly. Apparently, a snippet of a Family Guy episode resurfaced on Twitter where a joke referenced the late, and great, Nipsey Hussle. And a lot of people are calling the show out on the disrespect.

The snippet comes from an episode titled, “Young Parent Trap,” which aired back in April of 2021. In the episode, Chris attends a music festival called “Quachella” and shares his excitement with his father. In that moment as he’s doing so, Chris says, “They’re gonna have holograms of Tupac and also Nipsey Hustle, who I’d never heard of and then was told to care immensely about.”

The Tweet of this snippet has now gone viral. And many fans and followers have been chiming in on whether they deem the joke fair, or just downright disrespectful.

As a Family Guy fan, I understand the show gives absolutely no f*cks about who they are trolling or cracking jokes on. BUT as a Hip Hop and Nipsey fan, I do find this low blow offensive. Especially in the aftermath of his passing. These non-melanated shows need to do better!
