Kur, born Chauncey Ellison, the uptown Philly native had a rough upbringing and was involved in street life at a young age. He started writing songs as a teen and honed his flow by watching videos online. In 2012, he issued his debut mixtape, Straight from the Kur, just as he was graduating high school.
11 years later, after watching the devolpment, trials and tribulations of a Young King in Philadelphia, Kur has supassed all doubts and continues to climb to the top of the industry. Way over due but never too late, Kur has every right to flex his new success. Recently landing a deal with Meek Mill’s dream Chasers and Roc Nation deal. While Meek himself elevates rapidly he is sure to get the industry 101 from a solid source along side the support of one of the top record labels in Roc Nation.
After seeing Kur perform live at Made in America music festival, Kur stuck around made sure every single fan was able to get a picture, every blog was able to get a drop, phone calls to family members were called and facetimed. Despite the traffic jam it caused and festical security attempting to dispurse the crowd, Kur stood solid and got the job done. Staying true to himself, staying intouch with the culture, fans and the people has set Kur on a path of rapid ascendance. Giving motivation and a blue print for the youth to wake up to “Clutch” the official music video of the week.
