Jimmy Dasaint has shown a relentless dedication to his craft in the film industry as a director and producer. After his premier of “Nobody’s Son” we covered last month, Culture District HQ was invited out to cover the exclusive behind the scenes of the upcoming film “Stick Up Boy” starring Fyzier Clark coming this winter 2023.
Onset Ta’J the leading actor of both films says, “Nobody’s Son” had such a powerful message but in comparison the action in the upcoming “Stick Up Boy ” is unmatched. With a storyline that continues to unfold as you meet the characters you never know who is out to get who.
Not only did we get to meet the cast and supporting staff, such as Derrick “Nex” Sharper cinematographer and Annette Pinder. Witnessing their cohesiveness and creating processes firsthand landing a lot of the key shots in 1 or 2 takes. Son of the 215 noted to be putting on another groundbreaking performance with his role after his appearance in “Nobody’s Son” also. Mally Cobain and Tai Birch also making notable appearances in the film coming 2023.
Whats a great film without a great soundtrack? We got a chance to listen to the soundtrack which is a movie on its own. “Stick Up Boy” is by far one of the best soundtracks musically. Thanks to Jimmy Dasaints long history in the music industry, he has always had an ear for good music. Blending the full art of film and music usually takes a team and a lot of trial and error.
Jimmy spoke on set about being able to create without boundaries and he displays his art. Creating in a way that everyone on set can vision every detail he exhibits and execute in a record book timing. The amount of effort, time and editing it takes to create a film is often unseen by the consumer, so to not only view but be invited on set to feature with Rome Ya’FavoriteRapper in the film was major.
