Bye Bye Brown

Bye Bye Brown
Antonio Brown leaving the field during 3rd Quarter

This years nfl season has been full of surprises. From crazy win/loss streaks from the Miami Dolphins, to the coach (Urban Meyer) of the Jacksonville Jaguars partying with a female other than his wife. But they both pale in comparison to the fiasco that ensued in New Jersey Sunday. The now former Wide Receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers left the game in dramatic fashion, taking off his shoulder pads and jersey then proceeded to wave while trotting off the field. The problem was that it was still early in the third quarter! Fellow teammates Mike Evans and Cameron Brate where see trying to talk Brown off the “career cliff”, but to no avail.

There were grumblings as to why a receiver on what seems like his last chance would pull such a stunt? Coach Bruce Arians stated that Brown was “no longer a buccaneer” during the post game press conference. Some analysts believe this stunt was due to Brown being benched, in turn keeping him further away from his bonus incentives. That rumor has since been ruled out, which leaves the majority of speculators to think this tirade could be a cry for help. After a fallout with the Pittsburgh Steelers followed by brief stints with New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders. We would have liked to believe in the happy ending we hoped for AB. Tom Brady lobbied yo get him signed by The Buccaneers, even played and won a a Super Bowl. But the issues keep popping up. Hopefully it’s not CTE and it’s just Brown being done with football.
