It is now known that the police officer that killed Donovon Lynch, Pharrell Williams’ cousin, turned off his body camera prior to shooting him. Lynch became one of three people who were killed during three separate shootings that occurred along the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
Investigators allegedly claimed that a firearm was seen in the area and that Lynch was in possession of a handgun. The police chief, Paul Neudigate, also revealed that the officer who pulled the trigger on Lynch was indeed wearing a body cam – but did not activate it for reasons unknown.
While Lynch’s name has been mentioned in the media, the officer remains unnamed. But is apparently on administrative leave.
