Historic might be an understatement. Budget Ketanji Brown Jackson watched the Senate vote on her confirmation today, from inside the White House. She is now the first Black woman confirmed to the Supreme Court!
Jackson will be sworn in after Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement this Summer.
As the news broke, it was shared that 3 GOP senators flipped and joined the Democrats to vote in her favor! With the final tally sitting at 53-47. While many still believe her confirmation won’t change the “ideological balance” of the court, her confirmation is a historic milestone, nonetheless, for the Supreme Court and the federal judiciary.
Yaaasss, Queen!!
