Why Beyonce’s 1st Week Album Numbers Don’t Matter?

17.2 albums sold to date, 28 Grammys the most by any R&B singer, groundbreaking numbers on Netflix 1.1 first day streaming “Homecoming”, 6 number one albums including 2 surprise albums that include the highly favored lemonade, the list goes so far, we would not even get to the point of todays article. The work and proof of Beyonce’s longevity, legacy and continued stardom was set in stone and not by her accomplishments. Her die hard fans who every celebrity and civilian longs to have will always go to the ends of the world for the Queen of the Hive.

Today’s traditional way of gaining money from music streams, tours and features are long gone to the true masters of business. Yet, we still have most main stream media posting sales vs streams knowing the ability for an artist to sell vinyl or hard copies are an old school hustle it is still the most profitable distribution lane to be in. I have no doubt her core fanbase of over a million will be purchasing another one of her classics for keep sake and memorabilia purposes with no doubt.

Another reason first week numbers does not essential matter when speaking on monetary gain and streams because of the ownership Beyonce has over this album. She has chosen to distribute her album through her own record label and publishing company Parkwood Ent. Parkwood was founded by Beyonce in 2010. The company begin in New York and L.A. They released the first film “Cadillac Records” in 2008 and “Obsessed” followed up in 2009. She created the company when she decided to manage herself and continue her powerhouse with her at the top of the food chain in her empire.

The final reason Beyonce’s first numbers do not matter is the most simple but hardest to capture. Beyonce simply means everything to the culture. The way she embraced the past and the people who paved the way for her to have a lane. The constant push to bring everyone together and the way she creates simply means so much to the culture that her album would be a classic no matter the sound and streams simply because we expect and know it to be excellence every time.

When you put in the time, work and make the strategic moves Beyonce’ has made, the rest will carry you and the people will forever love you.
