Meek Mill says that artists do not care about first week numbers, that only record labels do.
“We don’t go off first week numbers ….Labels run that sh*t … and most of the numbers be fake … you can clearly see all the artist that’s killing sh*t! Focus on your brand and impact!!” he tweeted. “They crashing the rap game out …. that everybody drop on Friday bs …. Wtf is that.”
He continued, “Why would you want to sell your product on the same day as the competition… for a billboard look? lol what does that do for the artist?”
Y’all agree?
In February, Meek tweeted that he would be dropping his next album independently.
“No major label …. So every time I make real money off music … ima invest a million in my hood… off the flow! Pay attention ‘real steppa sh*t,'” he wrote. He added, “What platform with block chain ready for music …. I may do one platform for my music ?????? Serious question??? Sandbox, opensea ?????”
