On Saturday February 19th, 2022 your boy BlackStan got to witness the Inaugural 1st entry into a new rap battle league. GAAS gang( funny story behind the two a’s), initiated their very showcase for their league in grand fashion. Held at 1122 MMG Studios in Philadelphia,Pa the new league did not disappoint.
Thou some of the showdowns didn’t happen (I wanted to see jers vs. chuck book) but none the less other matchups filled the card out anyway. Hop vs. M Swagg was a eye opener for me. My first live battle between these two was definitely entertaining and that’s not the henny talking ( s/o Missy Porter ). Hop gained the crowd and never looked back, the punchlines were fast and furious. Profit and Smokey vs. Magic and Steel definitely deserved the main event billing. My first live 2 v 2 battle and it was nothing short of amazing!
Overall the energy ( and the gaas packs) in the building set the tone. The battle rappers did not disappoint Coming with their hardest bars. There were battles I didn’t get to see, hopefully I see down the road. OG Benny, founder of the group of men known as the Gaas Gang promised more battles to come.
