WildeTuna Spotlight Album: “Nothing To Talk About” By Man-Man

Man-Man Hip-hop artist from Philadelphia has recently dropped “Nothing to Talk About” the album. Man-man has been an artist on my radar since 2019 and has dropped another collection of good music to represent the city. Man-Man gave the album its title to refelect the normal critics for what they expect for todays artist. He also is at a place where maturity has set in, knowing who is who and what is what easing his path through life and the rap game. We know most intellectuals rarley speak unless its to inspire or educate and Man-Man’s title also mirrors that statment.

Man-Man has had a solid track record in the game and has a long list of co-signs and accolades. From Off The Hook ent with Black Deniro, Mpee, iCan, Da Bul Bub, Lil Tiff and a few other dope emcees. Inspiring the future of the city as mentioned by Meek Mill on Million Dollaz Worth of Game and prior on wallo267tv. Gaining notarioty by legends in The Game such as Prodigy, who we all know only shows love to the real emcee’s.

Not only was Man-Man able to put together another solid project he was able to collab with a number of talented artist and producers to do so. Produced by Better Dayz, Bookie Baek who also is known for his Graffiti artwork and longtime friend of Man-Man, Midi Beats and Beats By Damien. With features from South Philly Mel, Taqiyah Ali, Hassan, Alice From The Palace, FF Sick and Mc Ronnie. The project was engineered by Robyn Banx At One Take Studios and co-produced by Damien, Yankes, Splited, Artiisan and Ranbeats and a host of other dope producers.

Some stand out records from the project are “Black Lives” and “Reganomics” featuring South Philly Mel. Black lives even though its only 1 minute and 42 seconds the message is direct and much needed. As I listened to every record atleast 3 times this song kept calling me back. From the clip highlighting us promoting our own deaths and recording it instead of stopping it to the ending clip of the brother wishing he was around during these fatal altercations. The more we put truth in our music the more impact we will have over the youth if we consistently push the right narrative.

“Reganomics” not only is the name itself impactful in meaning and pain in the black community it shows the ability to overcome even when its a planned attack on our community.

“The world was better when the block sold crack”. I’ve never came across a more hurtful, truthful and debatable bar. We know during this time we were at a 4th renaissance in the African-American history books. Post Slavery, Post Harlem Rennaissance, Post Black Wall Street, Post Civil rights movement. We find ourselves at the brink of national notariaty for accomplishments in all industries, sports, music, finance, natural resources and ownership then crack hits. But it doe not hit like the government planned it spreads uncontrollably and the funds were used by the people to rebuild our neighborhoods. The plan b arrives in the form of harsh and cruel punishment, unfair sentencing and lack of representation for defendants leaving the black community to lead in highest percent of encarcerated males accross the globe. But we were a community, we stuck together and we were innovative as a people, somthing we are lacking in todays time. Man-Man dropping knowlege and keeping his art true to the essence once again.

Keeping the essence of hip-hop alive in every record for the fans of real music with a message this album is a must listen!
