Dutchieman Top 5 In The City of Philadelphia Hip-Hop Is Alive

Who else is bringing the Culture of Hip-Hop to the city of Philadelphia like Dutchieman? Bringing names back that we missed like Peedi Crack, Shyheim, Freeway and Big Ooh. Bringing the real sound of the streets back to the airways with the likes of 38 Spesh, Jadakiss and Conway The Machine. Not only creating timeless music with the legends, Dutchieman reached out to the new era and blended the sound like no other. With artist like Drama B2R, Son of The 215, and MeWe.

Dutchieman is the prime example of longevity and hardwork paying off. Keeping the ears of the youth by not only being himself but by profiting from it also. Many of the elders in the game lack the connection with the new era and the youth due to the changing of times, style and whats accepted in the culture. Dutchieman so focused on the end goal embraces the world in order to allow them to embrace his. “Projectiles and Congnac” easily the best Hip-hop album to drop in 2020 was followed by multiple singles, music videos, dope features and the most recent Ep “Numbers I Can Deal With”.

2021 for the legend was full of tours, interviews, guest appearances and reconnecting with the real. Folloiwing Dutch and witnessing his over due praise and recognition has been a blessing for the culture. After our interview in 2019 and hearing first hand all of the details and moves he was planning to make and to see it all be accomplished is highly motivating. I look forward to a 2021 interview with the legend who has reclaimed his throne.

Antonio Walker also known as Dutch of “Dutch & Spade” was born in 1980 in the city of Philadelphia. In 1997 Dutch was given his first distribution deal with Untertainment owned by Lance ‘Un’ Rivera. Fresh in to Dutch’s deal he was featured on Cam’ron’s second album “S.D.E.” (Where I’m From) and by 1999 was on Funkmaster Flex’s Mixtape “The Tunnel,” which went platinum. After the success of Dutch’s being featured on well-known Hip-Hop artists and DJ’s albums, Dutch & his friend/recording partner Spade joined a Philadelphia group titled “Major Figgas.” By 1999 they had released their number one hit single “Yeah That‘s Us,” followed by the release of their album “Figgas 4 Life” by RuffNation Records, under Warner Brothers Music Group. During the apex of his career with Untertainment, and completing a superb album with guest appearances by Styles P, Ludacris, and Eve, his partner Spade was arrested and has been incarcerated since 2002. The halt in his career was a struggle, but it allowed Dutch to look into other avenues in the entertainment business. In 2004 Dutch obtained a role in the Lions gate film “The Cookout” alongside, Ja Rule, Megan Goode, Farrah Fawcett, Danny Glover and Queen Latifah to name a few.

Dutch is a proud member of SAG (Screen Actors Guild), as well as an established Hip-Hop artist who has created a thriving acting and writing career. He has been a member of ASCAP since 2000, and with his membership comes a catalog of music that includes his three years of working with Cash Money Records.

After sometime from the spotlight, Dutch was behind the scenes taking care of his new obligations and orchestrating a plan for his future. He has spent the last three years working with Grammy Award winning hip-hop artist Lil Kim as her hype man. He has traveled as far as Africa since 2007 in efforts to reestablish connections in the industry, and keep his work ethic and on stage presence in tact.

In early 2010 he was asked to accompany Lil Kim on her remixed version of Rihanna’s “So Hard.” After the song was completed the stage show was revamped to include Dutch’s performance segments, and the calls for ghostwriting increased. He has been working hard, writing songs on albums such as Battle of the Sexes (Ludacris) and Priceless (Birdman). In September of 2010, Maverick Entertainment picked up an independent movie featuring Dutch entitled Ex$pendable, in which he starred alongside Gary Sturgis, Taral Hicks, and Omilio Sparks. He is currently recording his first ever-solo Mixtape entitled, “International Dutchie”.
