Pop Smoke Receives Six (Posthumous) Platinum Certifcations!

A year after his untimely death, Pop Smoke has officially earned SIX new platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), as confirmed by the organization.

The late Brooklyn rapper’s “For The Night” collaboration with Lil Baby and DaBaby has surpassed four million copies – complimenting his GRAMMY nomination for “Dior,” which went 3x platinum. These new plaques come just in time for his acting debut on Eddie Huang’s “Boogie.” Huang recently shared his thoughts on Pop in an interview with Hypebeast: “Pop Smoke was a good kid. He wanted people to know there’s another side of him. He’s well-rounded. I just love Pop because there is the image of him, and there’s what other people gravitate towards. It’s very interesting when you put yourself out, when you put your work into the world and you see what everybody else wants you to be.”

Huang continued, “He’s the King of New York, the bad guy, but on the other side, he’s like somebody’s brother, somebody’s baby. He was really a romantic guy.”

Congrats, Pop! Continue to rest in power, king.
